Dr. Timothy B. Judd has been awarded the Physician of the Year Award from the Colorado Society of Osteopathic Medicine. "This award is presented to an osteopathic physician who exemplifies what an osteopathic physician should be. Nominees should have contributed significantly to the osteopathic profession and their local communities through demonstrable service in one or more areas of education, research, community affairs or humanitarian programs. This individual should be a role model to peers and to students." (coloradodo.org).
Dr. Judd is a Family Practice physician. He is a DO(a Doctor of Osteopathy) which means that he treats the body as a "whole". They are trained in many different areas including physical manipulation to heal the patient using many different techniques. He has been in practice for over 22 years and is loved by patients and coworkers. Dr. Judd was the previous president of the Colorado Society of Osteopathic Medicine. He is currently the president for the Colorado Osteopathic Foundation and is very involved in the foundation and all they do. He has been a program director, a section moderator, and a lecturer at multiple conferences.
His passion for his career is evident in the way he talks about it. I asked him what the most rewarding part of being a family practice doctor and he said, "When someone walks into the office in a lot of pain, and they walk out pain free". Dr. Judd is a true DO. He makes a strong effort to use osteopathic skills in every visit. This is also why he loves his job. Not every profession allows you to help someone feel better so quickly. Dr. Judd spends a lot of time teaching future doctors and emphasizing giving back to others and the community. This, and his emphasis on osteopathy make this doctor stand out.
